Lunar Eclipse 2014

Erick and I got to watch our first eclipse together last night. Being the old married couple that we are, we sat and debated whether it was worth staying up until 1 am for like 15 minutes before finally making a decision. But man, was it worth it! God's creation truly never fails to amaze me and last night beautiful display was incredible. I caught a few pics.. Enjoy!

The best days

You know your day is going to be completely awesome when Lindsey shows up at your door at 8:30 am on your day off!

Over the weekend

This weekend was a blessing in many ways. We started off with a leader retreat with our church family. We spent Friday and Saturday at a gorgeous estate in Ramona getting spiritually fed and rejuvenated. It was a refreshing time of fellowship and rest with a community of friends that we love and adore. Then Sunday I worked at my parents shop on Main Street in Fallbrook during the annual avocado festival. We filled up on guacamole and funnel cake while spending the day bumping in to tons of old friends. Afterwards we went to Prohibition in Vista to celebrate Icer's 27th!!

We're feeling extra blessed to be surrounded by amazing friends old and new that are rooted in the love of Jesus Christ.

Things that matter

About two years ago my husband and I moved to a little apartment a block from the beach. The first year and a half of our marriage I was finishing college and the close proximity to the ocean was absolute torture. Having something so beautiful just outside your door but never having the time to enjoy it drove me crazy. A few times I tried to take my books down to the ocean to study but it never ended well.  I would get distracted by a squirrel eating potato chips or start people watching and before I knew it an hour had past and no homework had gotten done. So now that I'm done with school we take every excuse to get down to the sand. This past week Amber and Marley came over. What started as a "day of editing" quickly transitioned to an afternoon exploring at the beach. I never regret these decisions because I have realized how precious these moments are and I've promised to myself that I will never take them for granted. Because in the big scheme of things, is there really anything more important than building a fort for your goddaughter while the sun sets?

All of me song cover

Every now and then I get brave and post a song cover. It has been a while and I am so rusty but here is the most recent song I started working on. If I weren't already married, it would be my life goal to hunt down John Legend and convince him to marry me on the spot. He is that amazing!! Easily one of the most talented musicians I know of and I loved this song the very first time I heard it!! Granted, I didn't really do it justice but you should check it out anyway!

Torrey Pines Hike

This friday I got off a few hours early so I decided to take Erick to one of my favorite hiking places. Torrey pines is by far one of the prettiest places to hike in this area. The combination of red clay cliffs and endless views of the pacific are so breathtaking!!
